Francesco began his professional career in 1981 with the Victoria State Opera. He has performed principle operatic roles from children's opera through grand opera.
He has performed principle operatic roles from children's opera through to grand opera. These roles include 'Figaro' in The Barber of Seville, 'Marcello' in La Boheme, 'Schunard' in La Boheme, 'Dumas' in Andrea Chenier, 'Ein Perukenmacher' in Ariadne auf Naxos, 'Dancarlo' in Carmen, 'Zaretsky' in Eugene Onegin, 'Il Commissario' in Madame Butterfly, 'Hermann' in Tales of Hoffman, as well as a wide range of music theatre, corporate concerts and vocal recitals.
Francesco has performed with numerous opera companies: Opera Australia, Victoria State Opera, Opera Queensland, The Australian Pops Orchestra, Victorian Arts Centre Trust, A.B.C., Television and Radio, Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Music Festival, Melbourne Spoletto Festival, The Three Choirs, Intervasity Choir Festival, Music Theatre Australia, Mozart by Moonlight, and Eventure Productions.
Corporate companies Francesco has performed for include Crown Casino, B.H.P., & Amcor.
Francesco's vocal awards include, Melbourne Sun-Aria, Winston Churchill Fellowship Award, Armstrong-Martin Scholarship (part of the Australian singing competitions), Armstead Scholarship, Geelong Operatic Aria Award, Bendigo Operatic Aria Award, Ringwood Operatic Aria Award, Footscray Operatic Aria Award in addition to many other Art, Ballad, Lieder, and Musical Comedy vocal awards.
As a winner of these vocal awards, Francesco has been able to study with eminent voice coaches in Italy, U.S.A. and London. These include Maestro Fernando Banderra, David Harper and William Eddy. A special note of thanks to Miss Bettine Macaughan and Gary May both of whom have worked with Francesco since he began singing.
Claudio has been involved in song and music since primary school and was awarded the Contessa Phillipini song prize for three consecutive years. He later joined the Vincentian Boys Choir, later renamed the National Boys Choir, singing a wide range of Masses which included the Gregorian Chant hymns for St. Pius X Hymnal, and the Australian Parish Hymnal.
Claudio later became involved in music theatre -- light opera in particular. After a successful season of Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury he began voice lessons with Miss Bettine Macaughan and went on to sing the entire baritone repertoire of the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, as well as Christmas and Easter concerts.
Claudio also attended the National Theatre Opera School, and performed opera excerpts and workshops including Pagliacci and Carmen and modern operas such as The Consul.
He began singing in competitions and won a number of singing prizes including Art, Ballad and Lieder competitions -- culminating in his selection as a finalist in the Sun Aria 1976. During this time he performed principle operatic roles for Opera Melbourne performing leads in Cosi Fan Tutti, Don Pasquale, Die Fledermaus and The Merry Widow.
In 1980, he joined Victoria State Opera Chorus and was there until its 1995 absorption into Opera Australia. During those years Claude performed as a baritone chorister in thirty operas giving over two hundred and sixty performances. The range of operas included the comic operas Die Fledermaus and The Marriage of Figaro through traditional Italian operas Don Carlos and Rigoletto to the heavy German operas The Flying Dutchman and Loghengrin.
Claudio is currently continuing his involvement in choral singing with Opera Australia and is involved with fund-raising charity events.
Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Melbourne University (Honours in performance) in 1991, and her training includes dance, drama and language. Recent vocal studies have been with Janice Chapman.
During her career she has performed principal roles in Music Theatre through to Grand Opera.
These roles include 'Queen of the Night' in The Magic Flute, 'Musetta' in La Boheme, 'Gilda' in Rigoletto, 'Juliette' in Romeo and Juliette, 'Lucia' in the Rape of Lucretia, 'Zora' in Ruddigore, 'Ellen' in Lakme, 'Bubba' in Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, 'Adele' in Die Fledermaus, 'Bil' in Moon Chariot, 'The Fox' in Aesops Fables, and 'La Cugina' in Madame Butterfly.
She performed the title role in Patience, 'Christine' in Ken Hall's Phantom of the Opera, and 'Costanze' in The Abduction of Seraglio.
Natalie has performed with many companies which include: Opera Australia, Victoria State Opera, West Australian Opera Co., Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Society, Melbourne International Festival of Arts, Capers Cabaret, Sydney Olympic Bid presentation at Darling Harbour.
Natalie has been awarded many vocal awards, with the highlight being the 1997 Melbourne Sun-Aria.
