Chart of Revisions

Concerning the Families of the Order of Saint Charbel

This chart lists the proposed changes to the 1996 Rule and Constitutions Book.
It offers a comparison between the elements of the Apostolate and those contained in the respective parts of the R & C. The proposed changes touch the very essence of the identity of the Order of Saint Charbel, while at the same time, form the principles for a special apostolate to be promoted by the Order.

The chart was compiled by
Mr. Edward Stokes (Superior) and members of the Community of the Sacred Heart
Victoria, Australia

13. Devotion to Duty

The Rule and the Constitutions are silent on the matter of Devotion to duty - in the home - as implied here, and this needs to be corrected. This is perhaps the most important area to addressed in the Rule and Constitutions as most other aspects are already treated in one form or another.

Message Nos 19, 21, 22, 27, 28, 31, 38, 40, 74,75 ,83 Quotes from these messages are noted on page 4 of these notes, and could serve as inspirational content, for illustration of Heavens guidance to the sublime vocations of motherhood and fatherhood.

Most of these messages are applicable to fatherhood and the duties of parenting in family life

New Section on "Family Life" needs to be inserted.. It is suggested this be done as a new Chapter 7 with Life in Community renumbered to Ch 8 and all others renumbered after. Also the Apostolate may need to included in the Fourth Branch Constitution as a specific Apostolic Work

14. Fidelity to the Holy Father, the Magisterium, and all the teachings of the Church (both Faith and Morals)

17. Prayers for the mitigation of the suffering of innocent children in the world

Silent - but is only a question of directing intentions

Message No 17 - Pray for the protection of Innocent children - Also Message No 85

No additional treatment necessary in regard to prayer, but Apostolic Works could be expanded to cover specifically the mitigation of children's suffering as a "corporal work of mercy"

Message No 16

Messages equally applicable

No additional treatment necessary

Those mothers who would embrace the Apostolate, must follow three basic Tenets:

1. They must devote all their time, energy, and resources, including their very selves to the greater glory of God and the pursuit of the Divine Will in their lives;

2. They must be consecrated to My Most Holy Mother under the Title of "Mother of God";

3. They must seek to fulfil their daily duties, that is, as mothers and wives in an exemplary manner of holiness by pursuing the contemplative life in their homes.
